Since Prince Philip is the husband of the Queen Elizabeth 2. Why he is not the king of United Kingdom?

The husband of a Queen in her own right (such as Eliz 1st,victoria,and our present Queen) does not become the King. But if there is a King in his own right (like George 5th 6th Edward 7th,etc) his wife then becomes his Queen.
