Universal Philips remote cant navigate?

hey can someone help me out i bought a philips remote and entered the code 2462 and it works it changes the channels and volume stuff like that but when i click menu and try to navigate with the arrow keys it wont work the menu option comes up but the arrow keys wont let me change anything they just don't work this is getting frustrating i have a sanyo tv btw
