Motorcycle trade: tank dent vs fairing damage which is worse.?

I met somebody today who wanted to trade motorcycles with me and I really have something to think about. I have an 08 Ninja 250r with some fairing scratches and cracks on both sides, they have an 09 with a quarter sized dent on the top of the tank from a "tree falling on it." This seems like it is more of a win situation for me, but in your opinion is a tank dent any worse than fairing damage? If it helps the reason I am interested in this trade is theirs is a year younger has 1000 less miles and is the special edition lime green paint style and is lowered & double bubble wind screen. Mine is the simple all black one. Advice, comments all welcome thanks!
